Turf Care Program

James 1 edit

Community Green Landscape Group’s turf care program provides the appropriate amount of essential nutrients
required by turfgrass to maintain color, vigor and health. We can customize your site’s program with anywhere
from one (1) to five (5) applications of fertilizer and weed control products.

Early Spring Application
This application includes a pre-emergence weed control plus fertilizer and is designed to protect the lawn from
crabgrass. Depending on seasonal conditions, this application may include a broadleaf weed control application.
Applied in early March to mid April.

Mid Spring Application
This application includes a granular, quick release fertilizer enriched with iron and potassium to help spread the
tillers within the lawn and nitrogen to give the turf is darker green color. Broadleaf weed control is included as
weeds become apparent. Applied in April to mid May.

 Late Spring Application
This application includes a granular fertilizer enriched with iron and potassium to help spread the tillers within
the lawn and create dark green color. Broadleaf weed control is included as weeds become apparent. Applied
in late May to late June.

Late Summer Application
In early fall, we apply a high analysis slow release fertilizer to help the lawn recover from the summer stresses.
Broadleaf weed control is applied as required. Applied in August or September.

 Fall Application
This application strengthens the grass root system, keeps the grass green longer into the fall and helps the lawn
green up and start stronger growth in the spring. Applied in late October to late November.

Turf Core Aeration
Aeration is the process of mechanically removing soil plugs and small portions of thatch from turf areas. Lawn
aeration relieves soil compaction and improves the ability of roots to grow deeper and expand into
the soil. The mechanical removal of soil plugs is generally recognized as the best way to improve air exchange
and increase water and fertilizer intake by the plants.
